This is why I don't do glove of the month. I didn't even see it as well as many of the others.

I never noticed it either. I was wondering if this appeared on a different auction site. Nice one. Nice that it's a LHT glove like "the Babe" .

A nice 1930's Splading "Dizzy Dean" model DD42 sold for $350 on ebay. At various times this was Spalding's top model glove in the mid to late 1930's.

Nice one. I saw it last night for the first time. Must have lasted only a few hours at most.

I was watching these two:

Goldsmith Van Lingle Mungo @ $104.50

And this well made lefty with no stampings. I'd have bid if it was for a righty. $38.56

Probably no one else's cup of tea but mine, however this amazing Sonnett glove definitely falls into Glove of the Month territory - I was happy to get it at $39. It dates to about 1963 but it doesn't match any of the models in the catalog and the model number - OK88 - is kind of strange. I love the two piece web and the quality/condition is top notch. I know people have an affinity for the Rawlings/Wilson/Spaldings of this era but the Sonnett gloves from this time are easily as good if not better.

I need to pay closer attention to the ebay listings. That lefty has an interesting web component. Looks like a good deal that would clean up really nicely.

Brett, me too on the super quality of the Sonnetts. They have an arresting look for the keen eyed glover.
Notice on your Brandt the finger spread (depth) of each finger goes deeper from the fore finger to the pinkie.
Also were the Sonnetts similar or same to the Wilsons at this time since they were being made in the same factory? :?:

I really enjoyed looking at that old Rawlings "Duster Mails Special" that ended a couple of days ago. I tried for it but was outbid once again. Anyway, I've never seen one of these before. Pretty interesting glove. Here's a look at it.

I had one before - I sold it to John Graham a dew years back - maybe it will pop up in an auction some day

I picked up the lefty with the unusual webbing. I don't have pics but it cleaned up pretty good with jc higgins numbering system either 1663/68 or 1653/58. Got a genuine horsehide and a light Chas. Ruffing in the pocket.

It sure looks top of the line. Great looking glove!

1920'2-30's Diamond brand base mitt from Shapleighs Hardware sold for $108 on ebay. Despite the shoelace replacement perimeter lacing, the mitt has the potential to clean up pretty nicely. Looks to be of good quality with a nice buckleback and cloth patch.

After looking at this one all week, I thought I'd make him an offer for it. Don't see many Diamonds around; I like the look of the label and the early buckle strap. I agree; the mitt looks to be in nice shape. Can't wait to receive it. :D
