A "Harry McCurdy" catchers mitt sold for $67 on ebay. White leather in good shape with buckle and strap on the back. Looks to be of good quality with leather piping. Number 4260 on the heel may be a Marathon Brand.

A 1920's-30's Goldsmith "Bill Killifer" model sold for $56 on ebay. A solid mitt with good stampings. Looks like it will clean up nicely.

This 1920's era Rawlings glove didn't even last an hour on ebay and sold for a BIN of $87. I like the long pocket and stubby fingers. It's a very nice glove, well maintained with a great lining and intact cloth patch. A collector will be rewarded and have fun cleaning this one up!

Ya, jumped all over that Rawlings. All month I've been licking my wounds about gloves I didn't see, got outbid on, or they went too quickly to someone else with buy it nows, and then this one fell in my lap. Let's hope that there aren't a bunch of hidden issues, but I, too, thought that it looked like it had great potential. Love those long base, stubby finger gloves! I also stept up on that D&M Klein earlier in the month and really like it. It is the same model as that expensive wapiti leather Werber I picked up a couple of months ago and am really pleased with their quality. Not quite a Reach WS but pretty darn nice nonetheless (inside joke).

I was surprised when I won that McCurdy glove for $67. I thought it would go for more with the only issue being the lacing. I'm happy though!

I agree that the McCurdy mitt was a real good deal (and also that Killifer). Nice models!

One that I lost out on was this darn Jim Oglesby Ken Wel 1B with the unique strap. I have two but they have issues and are a notch below what I would call an ever-keeper, and I didn't see the NM one that Murph won last year (trade talks Murph?). Anyway, this went for $117.

I don't usually like to talk about "wins" before they arrive (superstitious thing), but I did win this faint Lefty Grove buckleback. Like the Oglesby, I've had an up-and-down relationship with this model (all Grove models?) so my fingers are crossed.

One that I have received is the Joe Mowry lace back. I took a chance because the pictures suggested more wear than I wanted, considering it had a $100 minimum bid, but it cleaned up real nice and I'm very happy with it. I love those double endorsed (block and script) lace backs, which for me have usually been Biff Bergers. The brand stamping is a W within a diamond ... anyone have any knowledge on that company?

Also picked up this one ofver the last month, a Cookie Lavagetto with a blind (no picture) BIN for $100. I've been burned on some of these blind BINs, but I love his name and am a bit of a gambler at times. This one really cleaned up nice, though. The 1-piece web with lace holes is unique to my collection which was a little surprising given the number of Goldsmiths I've owned over the years.

Thanks Mike. I assume you meant all the ones I won, and not the stuff I missed out on. :)

A couple of mint 1950's era gloves and mitts from ebay. Both stunning examples! First is a Wilson "Luke Sewell" model 2460 with original box for $167

Great to see someone else is spending their time removing old shoelace. Here's that Diamond Brand Base Mitt sporting the narrowest lace I could scrounge up (in place of its old shoelace). Cleaned it up a bit, too. There's traces of stamping all over the face of the mitt. :D

I was watching this quality looking D&M that just sold for $152.50. No mention of the large marker name on the back of the thumb in the description. It really doesn't jump out at you either; I didn't notice it until I looked at the picture a few times. We just had that thread about sellers who should know better. This is one of them.
