That was one that I sold at the National - when I got the box it was missing the side flaps on both the bottom piece and the top piece. Dr. William rebuilt the box for me and it came out nice. If I was selling it online I would have taken pictures of the side so potential buyers could have seen the restoration work. Hope the buyer is happy.

I'm surprised by that as well. I would have thought that there would be a side view photo showing the repair to the box. If the new owner would like to contact me to discuss the repair and the issue that I encountered, please feel free. It was always my intention to finish the sides with a layer of paper, but I ran into a sourcing problem and could only reconstruct the box back to it's functional state. It looks good from the front, so, if that's what you're after, it'll be fine on display.

Early 1900's Full web glove with wool lining sold for $218 on ebay. The glove is in real good shape with an interesting cloth patch on the wrist strap. It is from the Norvell-Shapleigh Hardware Co. of St. Louis, an early version of the "Diamond Brand" gloves.

A 1915-20's Horace Partridge 1" web glove sold for $456 on ebay. the glove itself is in pristine condition with nice markings in the pocket which are pretty rare with this type of white leather. The glove also features a variation of the Stall & Dean patented pocket. The circular stitching inside the wrist opening defines an area where the padding was reduced to more quickly form a pocket on the face of the glove. Also, a great cloth patch and only a minor flaw in the inner lining.

1930's Wilson "Rogers Hornsby" three finger glove sold for $310 on ebay. The glove has seen a fair amount of wear with some loose seams. The stamping is still strong in the pocket.

Prices seemed to be all over the board in the Legendary auction - some high, some low. Overall, I'd have to think the prices were generally lower than expected. Too much offered at one time.

The Mastro auction showed there was money to be spent in December 2010 that isn't there now. A similer Bon Tober glove with a non matching box went for 1440.00 in Mastro.

The zipper Gerhig was an $8,000 glove not to long ago
