Really nice 1930's Goldsmith "Double Play" Model KB endorsed by Horace Ford and Hugh Critz sold on ebay for $308. This is the first model I have seen with the long pocket and shortened fingers. The glove is in great shape with very little wear and clear markings in the pocket. The patent number stamped on the forefinger is for the vertical tunnel loop web. This one will easily clean up into a real beauty.

1930's Marathon "Bill Lee" model sold for $146 on ebay. A fairly common glove but in near mint condition. I have the same glove but not in this condition. It has been one of my favorites. it is a big 'ol softie.

A mid 1930's Ken-Wel "Dazzy Vance" model 560 Pro sold for $413 on ebay. I've owned this model and it is a high quality glove. The glove overall is in pretty nice shape with strong markings in the pocket. The patent tag is present on the side but the Ken-Wel patch is missing on the back. I personally wouldn't have paid that much with the tag worn off despite the decent condition of the leather. The big ebay sellers such as scgaynor draw a bigger response than a private seller.

A 1930-1940's J.C.Higgins "Bucky Walters" model sold for $188 on ebay. The early double laced gloves are still popular and this one also has a nice buckle back. Stampings in the pocket are strong.

2 nice 1930's base mitts sold for $152 on ebay. The Spalding model is pretty standard but the Ellery Arms buckle web mitt is probably somewhat rare.

That's a crazy price for a late model Vance with no tag.

I thought so too. I looked at the bidding history and 2 people seemed to want the glove at the end. In the heat of the moment, things can get out of hand.

Circa 1960-70's Rawlings "Big R" glove did not meet its reserve of $249. The glove seems unused and really interesting in the combination of features through Rawlings history. The 1950's three finger "Playmaker" design is updated with a modern "Fastback" look and "Edge-u-cated Heel". The "Flexomatic" heel lacing is used with the mid 1960's "Dual Step Down Palm" to accentuate a leather color change. To top it off, The early 1960's "Trapeze" web is thrown in. I liked the glove and thought it would sell but ebay buyers didn't seem to like such a high reserve.

A circa 1955 MacGregor "Robin Roberts" model GCR sold for $86 on ebay. This is one of my favorite MacGregor gloves. It is a large pitchers model and features the "Spider Web".

A beautiful 1920-30s Spalding basemitt sold for $171 on ebay. Seems close to near mint from the close up photos.

A real funky 1920-30's Rawlings base mitt sold for $45 on ebay. I liked it for its odd shape and really solid construction. The patent date stamped on the glove refers to a Rawlings 1922 patent for the thumb seam protector. The cloth patch is there but worn.

Circa 1960 Rawlings "Ken Boyer" model TG15 sold for $270 on ebay. This glove from seller gs65 is just one of several nice gloves he is selling on ebay. The "Robin Roberts" above was another one. Although the TG15 has been rebuilt, the scarcity still brought a good price. The post 1960's era glove market is strong right now as evidenced by the ebay results in the various glove categories. Maybe the baby boomers are having an effect.

As a counterpoint to the TG15 glove above, This 1930's "Heinie Manusch" glove sold for $43 on ebay. The seller did not state the brand but It may be a Dubow. I have owned an identical Dubow with a different endorser and it was one of the nicest and softest calfskin gloves I owned. This glove is well made with leather binding and features a nice buckle back.

A great looking 1920's Diamond Brand 1" web glove sold for $187 on ebay. I had my bid ready to enter and the price sailed past, onwards and upwards with 10 seconds to go. Oh Well. Strong markings in the pocket, bright red patch and leather well preserved. Nice smooth lining with a little wear to the surrounding leather piping.

A 1960-70's Rawlings "Stan Musial" model SM6 sold for $132 on ebay. There are some similarities and differences between this glove and the Mantle LB12 HOH glove from last month
SM6
KGrHqRh4E3OFUlTuBN7ReuWeg_12.JPG
Same "Pro Style" H-Web on both gloves. When did "Pro Style" become common terminology for Rawlings? The LB12 has the V-Anchored web common to the HOH gloves. I'm wondering if these gloves are post 1968?

the SM6 was also endorsed by Boog Powell in addition to Musial which makes me wonder if the Lew Burdette model LB was also used for Mantle.
LB12
KGrHqIOKpEE25br81Y0BN0sFlNWZ_12.JPG

here is a Rawlings "Lew Burdette" personal model LB15 to compare with the LB12. Pretty easy to see they are pretty different gloves. I've owned the LB15 and it is a pretty lightweight junior model. Seems the only thing they have in common is part of the model number.
