Circa 1970 Rawlings XFCB & HOH glove sold for $265 on ebay. The "Bellows Web" model attracts a lot of interest yet a couple of other XFCB "Bellows Web" models went unsold with more wear and tear. This near mint glove was easily the best of the bunch and sold quickly.

Circa mid 1960's Rawlings "Mickey Mantle" XPG6 HOH glove sold for $460 on ebay. Again, the best of a few other XPG6 gloves for sale.

A very nice 1911 Reach "Special" glove sold for a BIN of $150 on ebay. Model 02 was one of the better calfskin gloves in the Reach catalog. Strong markings in the pocket and a pristine cloth patch

A 1915-20 1" web D&M glove sold for a BIN of $150 on ebay. Has a fair amount of wear to the front but displays nicely from the back. Intact leather piping and lining.

A circa 1910 Reach full web glove from seller hal-chase sold for $118 on ebay. A better glove in every way from the D&M glove above but didn't get the price it deserved.

Two interesting Rawlings prototype gloves on ebay. The first double web model did not meet its reserve at a bid of $565. Pretty odd looking glove. I guess it was ambidextrous.

The other glove is the TG12 prototype. This was my favorite. It sold for $440 on ebay. I like the extended pocket between the first and second finger. Also, the web controller is pretty interesting.

Circa 1965 Spalding "Joe Torre" "Professional Model" catchers mitt sold for $107 on ebay. The mitt features the Spalding version of the Rawling's "Flex-O-Matic Palm". It was a high quality mitt in its day. The mitt is in great shape with strong markings in the pocket and very little wear and tear on the back.

very happy to get this at $129.00. Looks like it jumped right off of page 219 from John's Glove Book

A circa 1940 Goldsmith "Joe Cronin" model glove sold for $255 on ebay. The front looks pretty standard but the back is really unique. The adjustable strap webbing is intricate, somewhat reminiscent of the "Rainey Trap" web and the leather gussets at the knuckles to add flexibility to the fingers is pretty cool looking. In the late 1930's, various patents were introduced, such as the Wilson "KurvForm" to shape the fingertips forward to create a more hollow ball catching surface. This particular glove may be related to the 1939 O'Hara patent used by some of the glove manufacturers in competition with Wilson. This is a nice glove with great markings in the pocket and overall in fine shape

three from the ebay bargain bin:
First is a 1955 Spalding "Sam Mele" model 1011 glove for $28 on ebay. A top quality glove in its day with the V-Anchored web and Preformed Pocket. Nice cloth patch on the back.

Second is a 1930's Stall & Dean basemitt model 7651 that sold on ebay for $24. The back construction is a little different from the norm. Pretty nice looking mitt all in all.

one more from the bargain bin to peruse over morning coffee:
A circa 1905 Spalding Decker Patent crescent pad catchers mitt sold for $52 on ebay. A Very clean, well preserved white leather mitt with a fully intact crescent pad and a patent date stamped 1889 on the Decker finger guard. Grommet web seems intact. Nice, early black Spalding patch. All leather piping. The narrow wrist strap, even though reinforced with rivets, indicates a model a couple steps down from top of the line. The mitt is still a great buy in my opinion since it will clean up so nicely. This could be the center piece in a lot of collections.
