Mike, that is a good price on the Spalding. Nice that it is a higher end and early model. It is another listing I totally missed.

Circa 1930 Ken-Wel "George Selkirk" model for $110 on ebay. In good condition with a great cloth patch. Interesting back with the diagonal reinforcement above the wrist opening but no centered finger seams. For some reason I thought the two features showed up together.

Circa 1920 Spalding model 12-0 "Honor" catchers mitt. Top of the line mitt with a great look to it. Unique buckle back design and added buckle web feature. The markings in the pocket are clear and nice cloth patch. Brought $200 on ebay

Sometimes in a collection of gloves, there may be a nice find. That is the case with this listing on ebay that sold for $76.The early 1900's Decker Patent mitt in the upper right deserved a little more attention

The back of this mitt has such zany repairs it verges on the folk art status.

I enhanced the ebay photos with Google Picassa and enlarged the front view photo because I am familiar with this model and suspected there was a crescent pad. Sure enough, upon close inspection, I could see the holes that formed the crescent stitching.

This would be a monumental restoration effort and probably not worth it. It is a mitt that probably should be left as is. The vintage repair work on the back is an interesting curiosity in itself!

A 1930's D&M "Billy Myers" model glove in super condition. Someone got a great deal for $43 on ebay. There is no excessive wear inside or out. Clear markings in the pocket. A large glove with thick leather.

Circa 1940 Spalding "Joe Dimaggio" model glove for $150 on ebay. Interesting buckle back feature. Too bad the Spalding patch is worn off.

I have only had experience with the "Dimaggio" buttoned wrist strap models so I checked out http://www.baseballglovecollector.com to find another buckle back example and here is a real beauty

Turn of the century crescent pad glove for $492 on ebay. The glove has a lot of style because it is so well constructed. It features a full web and wool lining. I like the hole cut into the wool lining to form a primitive pocket. Maybe from wear maybe on purpose? Seems to be an adult size from the measurements given. It is important to check the size on these early gloves as evidenced by the earlier posting of a juvenile size crescent fielders glove that went for $500 plus. Not much fun in owning a glove that won't even fit on the hand

Beautiful 1960's Rawlings "Mickey Mantle" XPG20 for $136 on ebay. Really a flawless glove, just barely broken in.

An interesting lot of gloves with some vintage Hall of Famers in the mix. The big draw was the Wilson model 615 "Babe Ruth" glove. It could be that after Ruth retired in 1935, Spalding did not have an exclusive contract with him. I have heard of another Wilson glove endorsed by Ruth some years ago. This particular model could be from about 1937-1940. Notice the web and the lack of the seamless thumb. It could point to the late 1930's, prior to Wilson's seamless thumb patent of 1941. The seller could not produce a good photo of the Ruth endorsement, so it didn't bring the big money. Plus, the condition of the glove was just fair. $289 on ebay

Bob McCann's trip to Brimfield? Wherever it was, he brought back some nice ones. Below is a mid 1950's top of the line Rawlings TM20 "Stan Musial" Heart of Hide basemitt for $167 on ebay

Below is a near mint 1940's "Victoria" glove made by Wilson in Mexico. Really a super looking glove! sold for $93 on ebay.

Below is a mid 1920's Reach "Babe Ruth" model RC2. Not a high quality mitt but a decent endorsement brought $280 on ebay

1950's Rawlings "Harvey Haddix" Heart of Hide glove for $128 on ebay. A popular collectiblle because many MLB players used this model in the 1950's. In need of a good cleaning, but otherwise in reasonable condition.

This Rocky Colavito Spalding Professional Model went for $257.51 on ebay. Not top of the line, but it's in beautiful shape.
