That's the exact same glove and box that MEARS supposedly sold on their site two years ago for $4000. Perhaps it came back to them on consignment, but I don't trust any item or information originating from that organization. Just my opinion...

That's interesting. I was having a conversation with a fellow glover this afternoon about that little detail. Hmmmmmmm...

Love the graphics on that Hubbell box. Just beautiful! Some really nice gloves have surfaced so far, including these:
A Babe Ruth Home Run Special ended at $236.39. Guessing that questions about how faint the stampings were kept the price down on this one.

D&M Chuck Klein at $281.01.

Really nice looking D&M Bill Sweeney basemitt at $355.

Looks like there is still a lot of interest in 1960s top of the liners, especially when they're in this kind of condition. This Spalding Jerry Lumpe PM went for $272.89 on 14 bids.

Three more notables from ebay:
Reach crescent pad at $460.55. What would it have gone for if it had a liner?!

King of the Trapezes, the Rawlings TGP. $676.66 on 31 bids.

Another Stuffy McInness. Looks like this one saw a bit more play than the one that sold in January. Bet it will clean up nice. $107.50.

Take a number! Seems to be a hot topic in my glove circle. How does it go, guante Loco, in the Spinal Tap movie? "Don't even point at it! That's enough of that one!"

For superstitious reasons -- and because of some past shenanigans mentioned by others on the forum -- I don't typically talk about ebay "wins" until they have arrived. However, because there appears to be some interest in the outcome ... I was the high bidder on the two three fingers. The combination of missing out on a couple other ebay gloves and getting talked out of a couple of my three fingers recently was more than I could control. Although I don't have them yet, and anticipate I'll like them and want them, I am always open to trade offers of same tier items that fill holes. Buckleback full webs, unique oldies, and top quality Stall & Deans are some of the gloves I collect ... have gloves, will trade! Rob (glovecrazy@aol.com)

Things slowed down considerably on ebay after the middle of the month. Either that or I just didn't see them. If you did, feel free to post them. Here's what I have for the end of May:
This nice looking white crescent pad ended at $1224.

One of my favorite 1950's gloves, a Rocky Colavito Spalding 1141 PM went for $179.26. This is the Spalding version of the Rawlings HSP.

Two popular 60's gloves did well also:
Stan Musial Rawlings SM6 at $193.

Wilson A2000 at $214.50.

I'm still watching a couple more, so there may be an update later (oh boy!)

Last one for the month is this D&M Bill McKechnie Jr. model which found a new home for $133.50. The years have been kind to this one.

Really enjoyed doing this again! I hope that some of our other members will give it a shot if they're interested. It sure makes the searching on ebay more interesting.

The Ed Maynard 3 finger has been relisted. I don't return many ebay "losses" but had to on this one because it was VERY dried out to the point of being very stiff and cracking, and the tunnel loop has broken off. By the way, I specifically asked about the softness of the leather in advance. Don't go too high on this one!
