Best of January 2010

Postby okdoak » January 12th, 2010, 4:07 pm

This Nokona Joe Jackson stirred up some interest on ebay and our forum. It was as high as $770 but finished at $610 after a bid retraction.

Nice looking Reach crescent pad with some wrist strap and piping issues. Great looking liner, though. $715.09

Hopefully I'll be posting a few more good ones at the end of the month. If I've missed any, feel free to post them.

Nice job picking up the thread. Even with its vintage repairs, I really liked the looks of this one. I guess a lot of other bidders did, too. $588 and lots of action in the last few minutes.

Wow, that was quick! Thanks for adding two great gloves to the list! Here I was thinking that it was going to be a slow month... Anybody else?

A few more notables for January, actually more boxes than gloves. Is anyone else amazed at the prices some boxes fetch?
Beautiful graphics on this Stan Musial Playmaker Supreme box with the glove. Sold for $1132.88.

Thought I'd add this PM9 glove and box. I thought it was interesting because there was a picture inside the box of the young man wearing the glove. Sold for $104.49.

This is one thing I never can understand - why buy something on eBay and then put it up again the next week. All the glove collectors saw it the first time around - the price was determined with the winning bid. Why not hold onto it for a couple of months and then try to resell? I don't see how this makes good business sense but then again, I've never taken a business class so maybe I'm missing something.

I agree. That's just too much greed for my tastes. At those prices though, he probably will be holding on to them for a few months (years?). At least I hope so!
