This is really a nice and very rare glove up for auction this week. In fact it is the nicest Bouton I have ever seen. Wonder what it will fetch? :)

The elusive Bouton PM....I know it would look good on my shelf of 'keepers' 8)

As we know Bouton wrote the greatest book ever published...any arguements? I smell a new thread for the forum!!

No argument here. But there was a typo in Bouton's famous last line of his book. It should have read You see, you spend a good piece of your life gripping a baseball GLOVE and in the end it turns out that it was the other way around all the time.

Definitely the best baseball book I've ever read. It has been a few years since I read it, but I do recall my favorite lines being about the Pilots' manager. The line that sticks out the most is "...go pound the Budweiser".

It is definitely a terrific glove. I suspect Bouton's character could bring a bit of a premium.
