Rare Mantle 3-finger on eBay

This one was listed as a Nakona (sic) Mickey Mantle signature glove. I was contacted by a couple of glovers, the last being David Seideman.
It is, in all liklihood and David surmised this, a Hiawatha. I knew Nocona never put out a Mantle glove but after seeing the model # on this auction with a A25-1952, thought maybe it was a Denkert made (and Denkert did make some of the Hiawatha brand gloves) with that number as they also used a "1956" dating on a few of their gloves.
The glove didn't sell this time out but it is a rare 3-finger Mantle signature glove.

I thought this was a nice glove to pick up, but it seemed a bit high for a starting bid. I noticed it was relisted but I think I will wait it out. I seem to be getting lucky picking up some nice 1950's early 60's gloves at estate sales and in large lots of gloves on eBay. Got a nice EM heart of the hide in a lot of junk gloves for $15.00

My vote would go for http://cgi.ebay.com/EARLY-FINGERED-BUTT ... dZViewItem

not that bad of a price for a crescent heel, it amazes me how high these tend to be going as of late. I remember finding one at my friends grandparents house and us using it in pickup games when I was about 9 years old after seeing Field of Dreams thinking we were cool. Guess we didnt know any better, as far as I know he still has it but now with a torn web and some busted seams. Man we were STUPID!!!!!!!!
