Glove of the Week: Feb 18 – Feb 24 (Winchester)

Well, I am almost an entire week late with this post, but as they say better later than never…

A couple of nice Mantles hit the market this week. Up first is the less common MM4 model that went for a whopping $846 on 18 bids. But, then again how often do you see one in this condition?

The other Mantle is the very popular XPG6 model. This one is in nice shape, and has been worked on by Kenny Jenkins. This one sold for $515 on 23 bids.

A positively outstanding example of a Winchester fielder’s glove sold for $610 on 23 bids. Unfortunately the seller did not offer much info on the glove. It seems that many Winchester’s go for significant dollars despite very poor condition. So considering the condition of this one, it seems to be something of a bargain, and I'd call it the glove of the week.

A beautiful, nearly unused Reach 4B basemitt went for $510 on 20 bids from the same seller as the Winchester.

Retaining much of the original silver stamping, a very nice Stan Musial Personal Model Playmaker Supreme earned $243 on 11 bids. It looks like this glove was the victim of a heavy oiling but little use.

And the bargain of the week, a very unique basemitt, a bit reminiscent of a pita pocket glove, went for the low, low price of $77. What a bargain!!! Maybe Crackofthebat could offer a little insight on this one...
