2007 Glove of the Week Recap

Postby burker72 » January 1st, 2008, 9:53 am

Here are some of my favorites from the past year. I’ve gone through old posts and selected what I thought were the best gloves of the month. November received special consideration, although if I had to pick one, I guess the rarity of the Cobb would force my hand.

January

Reach Babe Ruth Home Run Special RF3: $2500 (Buy It Now)

February

Stall & Dean Grover Cleveland Alexander Speed Model: $750 (Buy It Now).

March

Spalding Joe DiMaggio "231" model: $1380

April

Goldsmith Eddie Collins EC model: $831

May

WB Jarvis Ty Cobb brand glove: $1225

Image

June

Thos. E Wilson Professional Model 610: $1031

Image

July

I failed to get pics of a workman’s glove sold by Bob McCann, which would have been the selection for July, in absence of pics I’ll choose another…

Rawlings HOH XPG3 Spahn model: $229

Image

August

A J Reach crescent padded fielder’s glove: $1127

Image

September

Rawlings Mickey Mantle XPG6 model: $865

October

MacGregor KC3 Kangaroo Leather Pro Pitcher's glove: $910

Although all of them would make great additions to a glove collection, if I could pick one for my collection, I'd opt for either of the Ty Cobb gloves - probably the Stall and Dean first with the other a close second.

Still get a kick out of that MacGregor Kanagroo. I bought it for 20 bucks at a Play It Again Sports and traded it to Glove-Works for a nice early piece. I'm happy with the trade but man, did that glove do well on eBay!

Burker, thanks for your weekly winners and yearly recap, I know it must take a lot of time to do these. Next christmas I'll be looking for the Reach crescent under my tree. Maybe you'll be able to get it delivered by Mitt Romney.
