Hi Carmi. I don't think it was missing any web parts. That glove was spectacular. The strong stampings, nice lining and tag certainly helped it go that high. I was surprised it went that high. I was thinking more like $2k. I was way off but happy to see it do so well.
IMHO I really liked the same seller's Goldsmith Chas. Gehringer glove more than this one (undoubtedly because I have Ruth's and other Ruth's) but also because it had the same qualities as the MO (great condition and great lining and stampings) and was a higher quality glove. All that admiration got me as far as underbidder. Just missed it.
An unusual an possibly home-made mitt sold for $231 on ebay
Also with a few interesting gloves from the bargain bin: A Rawlings R100 "Dick groat" model with "The Pirate Web" sold for A BIN of$25 on ebay. I kind of like this one.
An 1930's Reach mitt sold for $23 on ebay. This model features an interesting adjustable laced wrist strap found on some Reach, Spalding and Wright and Ditson mitts for a couple of years.

A rare "Champion" glove sold for $25 on ebay. Sold through Atlantic Leather Goods of Worcester, MA.
Some interesting choices for THE best of the month, I would give the edge to the Spalding Ruth glove. Not just because of the price but as Brett stated, it may be the nicest model MO out there.

Here's another look at the Ken-Wel 1" web mentioned previously in this thread. I'm pretty happy with it. I wrote on my feedback remarks to the seller, "better than described".
