The glove above is not only missing the buckle but it looks as if the remaining strap is a tad short. The William Read glove below shows how the missing strap and buckle might have looked on the ebay glove above. If I'm not mistaken, the metal buckle has a unique little sleeve or roller as part of its quick adjustment/release feature.
