A late 1880's fingerless glove pair sold for $33,200. There is a patent number on the face of the gloves but I can't make it out. I would guess it is the 1887 Blomstrom patent for H.W. Price Co. This patent design was for a one piece face. Spalding subsequently used this design on their top of the line gloves. the out seam construction on the back of the thumb is unique and interesting. The glove pair are in impeccable condition.

A KenWel Lou Gehrig model 632 mitt from the same auction didn't meet it's reserve of $4400. It's going to be a tough sell at that price. All the factory markings on the face are worn off the mitt. The mitt overall is not in the greatest condition.

here's an odd one for sure, a 1960's Rawlings XPG7 model with a Trapeze web. No Trapeze stamp on the back of the web. It's possibly a special order or a prototype. This is one that would fit well in Derek's collection. It's a beauty and sold for $1603.

A 1958 Rawlings Bob Dillinger model BD glove sold for $599. It's near mint and has the desirable anniversary patch.

Mike, I watched that XPG 7 right up to the end and was hoping I could somehow work it into the budget. Didn't happen. Bill Gates I'm not. I was able to get that Spalding Big Pro from last week as well as the Bob Dillinger you posted today. Yeah I know I over payed but had been looking for a real nice Dillinger for a few years and wasn't going to pass it by.

Mike,
I believe the Big Pro was Spaldings version of the Rawlings HSP which also made it's debut in 1957. While the HSP continued in production through 1959, the Big Pro was quickly rebranded in 1958 as the Model 1141 Rocky Colavito PM. Production on this model also ceased at the end of 1959. HSP photo is from 57 Rawlings catalog, Colavito photo is from 58 Spalding catalog.
