A late 1880's fingerless glove pair sold for $33,200. There is a patent number on the face of the gloves but I can't make it out. I would guess it is the 1887 Blomstrom patent for H.W. Price Co. This patent design was for a one piece face. Spalding subsequently used this design on their top of the line gloves. the out seam construction on the back of the thumb is unique and interesting. The glove pair are in impeccable condition.
A KenWel Lou Gehrig model 632 mitt from the same auction didn't meet it's reserve of $4400. It's going to be a tough sell at that price. All the factory markings on the face are worn off the mitt. The mitt overall is not in the greatest condition.
here's an odd one for sure, a 1960's Rawlings XPG7 model with a Trapeze web. No Trapeze stamp on the back of the web. It's possibly a special order or a prototype. This is one that would fit well in Derek's collection. It's a beauty and sold for $1603.
