Best of June 2018

Ebay is being weird again. Redirecting access to sold listings to active ones. I have to click on the word "listing" in the blue bar to see the sold item. A new marketing strategy? who knows!
A 1930-40's's Rawlings Geo. Sisler model basemitt sold for $149. Super clean, too bad there's no patch!

A 1920's Spalding "World Series Model" AXP buckle web base mitt sold for $254. Overall the white leather is in pretty good shape. Nice markings on the face.

That Spalding Giant was a good buy for whoever got it - looks like it will clean up to a really nice piece

I put a bid in but was way low and never got recorded. Probably for the best. I'm resorting to selling my Model A Ford stuff and extra guitars to cover other musical expenditures. Bought some pedals and guitar mods and of course, more guitars. Finally picked up a cherry red ES335 model I've had a jones for since I was 17. Also have the Tele, and the Strat. That's three of the big four. Never liked the fourth, the Gibson Les Paul so I have the "Monkey Grip" Ibanez instead.

was planning on bidding on "The Giant" I was going to remove the Spaulding patch, add a rawlings patch, get my wood burner out and neatly burn "Pepper martin" into the heel!!! asked my wife for $500 to bid and then "WHAM!!!" when I woke up the auction was over....Just sharing my latest Pepper glove adventure!!

A sewn web D&M glove came and went pretty quickly on ebay for $99. It's seen better days but the endorsement was pretty clear. It looks to be one of the 1920's models endorsed by a variety of players. I think it is endorsed by either Johnny Stuart or Lefty Stewart. Both these guys were listed in the '20's D&M catalogs.

I think that last D&M is a Duffy Lewis model

Nice pull William. Here's the endorsement from the Duffy I used to have.

A late 1950's Rawlings "Mickey Mantle" MMP glove sold for $293. The early MMP gloves were pretty chunky. This later version is streamlined, kind of foreshadowing the XPG's to come.

A 1920's Rawlings "Bill Doak Special" glove sold for $265. A loose forefinger seam, otherwise it's in pretty nice shape. The "Special" model doesn't come up for auction very often.

A circa 1930 Horace Partridge "Babe Pinnelli" glove sold for $265. The tag could be better, otherwise the glove is pretty nice. Made by KenWel.

A Reach TOC base mitt sold for $150. Even with some of the crescent stitching missing, the mitt has a great look to it although could use a little TLC.

A 1930's Alex Taylor glove sold for $247. Real stylish! Light markings in the pocket and a loose forefinger seam, otherwise great looking leather.

Would have been in my wheelhouse when I was collecting. A really nice Goldsmith catchers mitt. It has an early tag and the patented web adjustment. I've had a couple of these and that web adjustment was one of those impractical dead end inventions that collectors such as myself know and love. It sold for $287
