Good Buy or Bad Buy? Dimaggio 133 Model

Postby burker72 » July 3rd, 2007, 7:53 am

I'm usually a bit skeptical of the BIN feature on eBay because I think many of the auctions are just hoping to get lucky. This morning I found a Spalding 133 Joe Dimaggio model (made in 1951) from a reputable seller for $160 (which includes S&H). So I took the plunge and bought. I wanted to ask the members of the forum, what do you think? Was it a good buy, or a bad buy?

DiMaggio

I think it was a great buy. Spalding 133s are great high quality models and are the most popular. I think every collection needs a 133 in it. I think an Ex or so 133 is a $200 glove any day of the week. That's what I used to use a barometer when I picked up the ones I have. Any nice splitfinger DiMaggio for under $200 is a great buy in my opinion.

I agree completely. Give it a good cleaning. Dimaggio is GOLDEN. Granted it isn't an extremely rare glove, but the demand will always be there.

Definitely a good buy. I book marked it to think it over for an hour or so and when I went back to buy it you had already purchased the glove. He who hesitates.............. :(

I have this same mitt. It is one of my favorites in my collection. High quality. I paid $75 about 10 years ago and thought I paid too much.

That's a nice looking glove with a popular Hall-of-fame endorsement. $160 seems to be a touch below market value on these gloves, so I would say...good buy!
