Information on a glove

Postby woodypetonya30 » October 22nd, 2013, 2:41 pm

I picked up a glove at a flea market and can't find any information on it. It is a Rawlings Brooks Robinson KMDC model. It has the double ca-thud pocket and I would guess is about a 12 inch glove, maybe a little smaller. I've had a couple of Brooks Robinson gloves in the past, but never this model. The only thing I can find online is a couple of pictures of another glove of the same model that sold on ebay in 2008. From some other info I've found I think the KM may be for KMart and the DC for Double Ca-thud. Only reason I wouldn't think that the glove is from KMart is that it seems to be really high quality. Any information anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

Tag says made in Japan. This might be an upper mid-level fielders glove of-- I'm guessing-- middle 1970s. Could have been a KM K-Mart glove and DC for the Double Ca-Thud (not one of the Latina's better feature slogan for me.
It refers to that open laced pocket that had to be a bit experimental for Rawlings as the DCT feature was on its top of the line first baseman's mitt where the idea was borrowed. Looks like a re-lacing job on this one?

Yes I believe it is an older re-lace. Glove is really stiff. Bought it the way it sits. $4 bucks.

Who ain't a Brooks Robinson fan??? Well, besides the Reds in 1970. Not a HOH model but.. pretty unique and well made, rolled piping, tunnel loop web, ca-thud, Never seen one other than on a 1st basemans mitt... I would keep it... Great find.
