Your bat likely dates from 1917-1919 as the vast majority of YMCA marked bats (although still quite scarce) were made exclusively to be sent overseas to servicemen as part of the morale/welfare/recreation effort during WWI. Most YMCA bats out there were mfg. by Louisville Slugger and your is only the third non LS model I've ever seen...Spalding and Wilson examples are the others that I've come across.

Here is an example of a Spalding bat in our collection that has been stamped with the YMCA logo:

Here is another indoor example like yours made by Louisville Slugger:

Most of the YMCA bats out there happen to be professional grade, pro model examples...here are some more specimens:

Some other YMCA marked items...balls, gloves, etc:

Sorry I got a little carried away here with the YMCA stuff...it just happens to be one of the focusses of our collection. Oh, and I've never seen one marked CANADIAN...so, its different, but makes sense considering Canada's involvement in WWI. Nice find, and fairly rare.

Thanks...we really appreciate that. If you are so inclined, please share your thoughts on the book here, as we are still trying to get the word out:
