Hey everyone, I just joined the forum and am eager to learn more about the hobby. While I played many years of baseball, I never really thought about collecting any baseball memorabilia besides cards, which I no longer do.
I recently found this glove at a thrift store and was thrilled! I knew it was a good glove because I had used a Heart of the Hide glove fora majority of my playing time. The mitt was really dirty, and with just a preliminary clean-up has cleaned up very well.
Now, Ive been trying to learn more about the hobby and begin acquiring new gloves to start a collection. I recently won a bill doak on ebay, which the seller didnt state in the listing but I could see stamped on the glove, so it was a steal of a price! I believe it is a model H, will have to confirm that though in person. Once that glove comes (hopefully today) I will try to clean it up a bit and post it here!

Here is the glove that started my interest in vintage glove collecting. I searched ebay and online, but couldnt find anything about this glove. If you guys know anything about it, whether it be year it was made or even an approximate value, I would love to here what you have to say! I have determined that the pocket is a earlier design of the HOH trapeze, since it is called a Big Trapper on this model. It is not endorsed by any player, unfortuntely. It does need to be relaced to be usable, but personally I think it displays well. I am thinking late 50's or early to mid 60's?

Rawlings Heart of the Hide TNT "Big Trapper". Left Hand Thrower, fits on right hand. 1st basemans mitt.

Well I have good news and I have bad news!
Good news: The Doak came today and I found another glove I liked, in pretty good condition for under $5 at my goodwill store while I was killing time!
Bad News: The Doak is in much worse condition than I had anticipated. The seller hid the tear on the inside of the thumb from view in the pictures!

However, after being called out on the "mistake" the seller offered a partial refund, making the Model H a true bargain while already being very cheap!
Poor condition and the patch is gone, but for the price I paid I am very happy!
The stamping is faint, but can be made out in person. It is indeed a model H!

The second glove I found for under $5, is a neat Willie Stargell endorsed Rawlings RFM35 Lefty basemans glove.

Let me know what you guys think and if anyone has any information or interest in my gloves, I would love to trade or sell to a forum member! Im not sentimental about things, I would love to have a Righty glove though instead of my two lefty gloves so far!
