Cy Young Hutch model 36W

Postby glove99 » May 24th, 2012, 5:06 pm

Hi, i picked this glove up at a garage sale a few years ago and it went into the closet. I recently pulled it out and am trying to identify/find out anything about it. It is a Hutch Cy Young Model 36W. I have seen a few on the internet that have gone for a pretty penny, although they were in better shape. I have seen two different models of this glove one is a 36 and the other is a 36W. Can anyone tell me what the difference between the two? Also when was this glove produced? About how much do you think it is worth? FYI i don't collect gloves, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Bud
Sorry but it won't let me upload a photo

You are correct in that these Cy Young gloves have sold reasonably well, usually in the $250 to $500 range depending on the condition. You have a major problem with the glove lining half apart in the back. The front appears to be in good condition. It might be worth it to have a new lining put in which might cost $50 to $100. Or you might want to offer as is to see what the glove might bring. The "W" might might indicate a modification or an added feature to the basic 36. The glove was probably produced from the late 1920s to the early 1930s.

thanks for the input. Do you have any idea where i might take it to get repaired? Although I will probably just try and get rid of it as is.
Thanks
