Let's see some Alex Taylor gloves!

Postby Rickybulldog » November 11th, 2011, 10:57 pm

Feel free to post any if you got em'. I just like seeing gloves. I've always liked the mini players on the front of these gloves/mitts, very similar to the Stall & Dean Speed model gloves. Here are some of mine:

A huge golden color basemitt. This one has a great feel and a blazing patch! An amazing mitt! This one is butter soft.

Here's a White Alex Taylor full web. This one has a great look and a nice feel. The liner has been replaced, but I think they did a great job!

Here is a "Travis Jackson" model. Although there are a few "Jackson" models on JD's site, this one is not. It also has the two players stamped on the front although my pic may not have captured them very well. It was a super glove. I liked the patent stamping along the thumb for the web reinforcement design.

That's a nice one! Looks like it had a lighter colored liner back in the day.

I love the Alex Taylor stamping with those little players! The one on the left on this Dazzy Vance is tough to see because he's in the crease.

That Vance is pretty sweet! I used to own this black one inch web at one time (no clue who owns it now). Very soft and a beautiful patch.

Here's a cool black catcher's mitt from VBGC.com. looks great! Curious about the liner on this one? Looks adult sized. Great color!

Great thread Dog. Earlier this year there was a gangsta alex taylor lefty doak that was on ebay. The seller was about an hour from me but I never got around to going to see it. I wonder if it had the "little men" as well.?

okdoak, do you have a picture of the back side of the Dazzy Vance glove? I would love to see the other side.

I'm with you Bing, that Doak was killer! Anybody know who owns it? Was it pliable? It had a beautiful white liner!

That glove was great - it has an almost perfect lining, had three colors of leather and was huge. I picked it out of an auction in New Hampshire a couple summers ago and sold it at the National in Baltimore 2010 - it didn't last very long.

I think it's unanimous; that Doak is a beauty! Here is the back of my Dazzy Vance, Ken. Unfortunately the original wrist strap was long gone when I got it. I cobbled together a replacement.

Nice! Way to cobble that one up! Here's another catcher mitt (not mine).

I used to own this Mel Ott Alex Taylor. It was in very nice condition and the little guys were still visible.
