Hi Riderboy,
This is Bret, the guy that tried to answer your question over on the eBay discussion board.
I see that you added more details here about Bruce Meade than you had on eBay. When I read your eBay post, the name Bruce Meade didn't really ring a bell. With all of the info you added here...it does! Back in the 80's I had a VHS tape titled (something like) "How to Hit in Slow Pitch Softball" that was put out by Louisville Slugger. Meade was one of the players on the tape. Unfortunately, I lent the video to someone in the early 90's and never got it back.
Then I remembered that Meade was one of a handful of pro softball players that actually had a contract to endorse sporting goods. Louisville Slugger produced Meade-endorsed softball bats that had his signature printed on it. I managed to find a couple of photos of this bat on the web:
Hope this helps! At least now you have something to compare it to. To my untrained eyes, they look to match up. There is plenty of autobiographical info about Meade on the internet. Maybe you could actually contact him or one of the many different halls of fame he belongs to (ASA, USSSA, NSA).
