Edwin Dibrell Williams (January 19, 1910 - April 2, 1992) was an American second baseman and shortstop in Major League Baseball who played from 1930-1935 with the Philadelphia Athletics and Boston Red Sox. Born in Greenbrier, Arkansas, he played in the 1931 World Series with the Athletics. He died at age 82 in Searcy, Arkansas.

Reader sent email on this glove with pictures. I could not find this model, either a Rawlings G300 fielders or name "Dib" Williams listed in any of the catalogs I have. So maybe we have a new name to add to our gloves found list unless someone has already run across one of these.

I have pictures the owner sent me.
JP-TGC

I had one a couple years back and I know there was one on eBay within the past 2 years as well. So I guess that makes three examples. I may have the pictures of the one I had somewhere here - I remember it was made by Rawlings but had a private label tag for a store in Iowa.

Here is a 1938 Rawlings catalog page showing some cool variations of the "Doak" model. I also like the "Pepper Martin" model PM (upper left) with the tunnel web attaching the pinky finger.

in the bottom right corner, the elusive "Dib Williams" model. This one is a Bet-R-Bilt model G1000
