Boston Show - April 2010

There is a sports show up in the Boston area this weekend at the Shriners place in Wilmington, MA. This is not being promoted by GBSCC, but another company this time around. I made my way up to the Boston area this morning and met my friend Number9 for a delicious donut at Kanes in Saugus, MA. We then made our way down to Sportsworld (new location, same disorganized mess) and then headed up to the show. It seemed about 3/4 of of the space was filled as compared to the November show. The crowd was pretty sparse so we had no trouble walking around and seeing what treasures the dealers brought. There wasn't much to look at except one really nice crescent fielders glove. The dealer had showed it to Number9 and me at the November show but he wasn't looking to sell at that time. 5 months makes a difference as he was ready to move it this time. Number9 was kind enough to let me fork over the cash for the item. It's a great piece (the dealer told me that numerous times) and I'm glad I was able to buy it - pictures tomorrow if I get some free time.

Overall, I was thrilled with the purchase and happy there wasn't anything else there to put a dent in my budget. It was nice catching up with Andy S. and chatting with Dave Bushing for a few moments. There were some nice cards and photos at the show, plus an $800 reproduction ball a dealer was trying to pawn off as authentic.

Glad to help you out Brett! You seem to have good luck with crescents when I'm around.

Yes, Number9 is the conjurer of crescents! Here are some pictures of the glove - lining is perfect!
