It's a Globe model MM43. It has Mickey Mantle in block letters, not script, up the pinky. It is a buckle back with strap and buckle in great condition. I don't follow Mantle gloves at all, I didn't realize there were buckle back with Mantle on them.
The most interesting thing about this glove to me is the finger strap and buckle. It has a 3/8 inch leather strap Attached at the pinky that runs thru each finger and circles back thru the index finger to a buckle that's between the index and middle finger. The fingers slide freely on the strap and there are about 5 extra holes to adjust the buckle so you can make the fingers pretty tight or very wide and loose. This is factory, not home made. I've never seen that on any glove before.
The glove has late 40's split finger styling with a fuller single piece web.
Stamped in the pocket is Deep Scoop Pocket and on the inside of the web is Super Grip. Without looking it up, I'm guessing Mantle started playing in the early 50's (i'm 50ish, never saw him) so this must be early 50's model.
9" tall and 10" wide.
Anybody familiar with this model feel free to add some info. I'll get pics up later in the week and it will probably be up for sale or trade if anyone has interest.
