Mike, I agree that this is a stellar glove......especially since I now own it! I will never let this one go......the only glove I regret selling is the A2080 I purchased from you last year......

Here is my A2000 - I remember getting this at Herb's Sporting Goods in Hartford, CT - it must have been 1985 or 1986 (when I was turning 7 or 8 - I'm pretty sure it was birthday present but my dad could confirm that). Anyway, it is a 10 inch pattern and I've never seen another one like it.

I should add this is probably the only thing from my childhood that has survived in nice condition.

Hey Brett - Herbs is still the place to go (they moved to Bristol) in CT for good leather. They know me by name in there ('here comes that sucker'). Seriously though, they do carry the best and I'm not surprised you found that little beauty there :)

Didn't know they were still in business - I remember them moving from downtown Hartford to East Hartford. Where are they in Bristol?

Wilson A2000

Yes, it was a birthday present, but which one I can't remember. I remember being so impressed that we actually found such a top quality glove that fit a youngster's hand. At the time I got a good price on the glove because they had had it in stock for a long time - no one wanted to pay that much for such a small top quality glove. I coached little league for 18 years and it would drive me crazy when 8 and 9 year olds showed up for our first practice with a 12 or 13 inch pattern glove on their hand. Gee whiz, Brett, don't you wish you taken better care of some of your other toys!!!!!!!

Hey Guys, They have a second store in We$t Hartford. They're now in a business park in Bristol, less retail walk in business, more selling directly to schools, leauges etc. I've found many hard to find gloves there over the years and they're always the first to have new releases like the Rawlings Primo. -M

A2000 Infield Pro Stock Glove at PIAS

Postby softball66 » March 30th, 2007, 5:39 pm

In tune with these little Wilson A2s, I picked up a made in Japan A2 infielders pro stock 1786 today with the single bar web. I'm guessing 90s. Has the long vertical embroidery of Wilson MLB on the back little finger. Though an open back, it has a vertical finger slot sewn above and outside the forefinger for that finger to go into. This glove has a heavy curved contour of almost 6 inches from the front to the back of the glove. I'll try to get a picture of it up in the next few days. This is the small Wilson A2 about 10 1/2 inches deep. Probably along the lines of the Joe Morgan tiny A2000 glove that he requested.
