It's a busy weekend for me here in the midwest. I'm working the PGA Championship at Medinah as a volunteer on the public scoreboard. Yesterday, after finishing my shift (and watching Tiger/Phil for a couple holes), I made the 5 hour drive up to Rochester, MN. Last year I attended both Gold Rush shows in Rochester and Oronoco, MN. I decided to make a return visit this year to see what I can find. As you can tell from the picture, I did pretty well.

I did miss out on a three finger Hornsby made by Lowe and Campell that glover Keith Knabe got right before I got there. I also passed on a really nice Rawlings TM45 HOH Stan Musial 1B mitt - glove was in great shape but the price was a little too high for me.

Here is a picture of the Nokona Joff Cross and the Rawlings Tom Tresh. On the Joff Cross, someone had their name professionally stiched on a cloth tag on top of the Nokon tag - kind of interesting.

Were the prices at bargain levels or good?

The prices were very reasonable - I spent around $400 total for everything that I bought. The Goldsmith bat was the most expensive item I purchased.

Looks like the trip was worth it. I like the sounds of the Goldsmith bat.

I really like the Cross and Terry Moore gloves. Well made. But you scored right across the board.

Here is a a picture of the Dubow model Terry Moore glove - it is very large. the only issue is the seam on the thumb has come unstitched a little. Other than that, it is a top of the line model with nice leather.

What do those J.C. Higgins coolers usually run. I bought a red one this weekend and gave 30 for it, and it is very nice and clean. Just didn't know if that was about right or not.

I paid 25 for the cooler - I'm not sure what they usually run but that was as much as I was going to pay for something that holds bats.

Brett, talked to St. Paul's Paul Gertsen who said he saw you and Keith K. together and thought to himself that both of you had bought gloves from him. He was coming over to thank you but he and Fred Budde got distracted. They reported good show too. Rochester's a nice haunt but all agree, not like the old days.

I talked to a dealer who was set up in Oronoco and he said they did a a really good business - lots of people coming through to buy things. It seems to be a good show to buy and sell items.
