Roger Maris Gamers

Postby toad » December 28th, 2007, 4:08 pm

I had mentioned I had come across Andy Strasburg,he was a friend of Roger Maris as a young man growing up in New York. Andy later worked for the San Diego Padres and is now an agent. He's recently become acquaintance and lives very close to me here in San Diego. Andy was also a consultant for the movie 61*

I asked if I could post pictures of his 2 Maris Glove? The first is a gamer from the early 60's. The second is one Roger and given to former umpire Doug Harvey (also a fellow San Diegan),you'll notice the note to Doug Roger wrote on the Glove. Doug gave the Glove to Andy.

Hope everyone can enjoy.

Great memory,
I've asked Andy that question. He's been out of town. I'll speak with him next week.

For those who've emailed me. I was able to find out from Andy; the Model number of the Spalding with the H/I web is 42-203.

Thanks,
