Hey there. A guy I know found this Rawlings R4000 at a yard sale for a buck and passed it over to me since he knows I'm interested in old baseball things. I'm a bit surprised at how rare this glove seems to be...tough to find others out there on the internets. Most conversations on this board about this glove date back 15 years or so. Does anyone have any updated info on how rare (or not) or desired (or not) this might be. It's in decent shape with all it's original lacing, no damage, but obviously well-used. Embossed lettering is readable but not perfect. Any feedback is most appreciated.

I probably can't tell you much more than those older posts already have. Your glove was made from 1977-79. It was high quality, not Heart of the Hide, but at $60 retail it was only $7 cheaper than the HOH XFG6. By that time most of Rawlings endorsed models were much cheaper imports and that probably explains why your glove would be more scarce.
