So I took a chance on this random lot of sports stuff on ebay recently that was supposedly left in France after WW II, Im sure a few of you saw the stuff. There was a nice Alex Taylor buckleback catchers mitt, a Goldsmith softball glove, a h&b bat, a very old leather rugby with bladder intact, catchers mask, couple of balls and a leather volleyball for $150 plus s&h.

Anyone know anything about old Rugbys? This thing is huge.

Now to my surprise upon opening the mysterious box, everything was in great shape and I pulled a 125BR US ARMY late 30s early 40s model Ruth bat. Couldn't complain to say the least. Ill be listing a few of the items this evening after a good cleaning.

Also I picked up that recent Alex Taylor Walter Johnson glove that sold last week on ebay...need some advice on relining...anyone got a guru who I can send the glove to have it relined, I don't want to mess this one up. Thanks!

As far as relining goes, I like the work done by The Sports Doctor (John Golomb) if you want a brand new liner and piping for your vintage glove. He relined this D&M for me years ago. If you would rather have an old liner (which seems to be the consensus of a lot of our forum members), Number9 and Joel T. do nice work.

Greg don't sell yourself short. You do a killer job as well with your relined gloves!

Thanks Ricky! I've gotten a lot of practice lately, but I'm still not ready to turn pro. I was actually relieved to see that the last glove I picked up had a decent liner.
