July 2009 Collection Additions

Postby vintagebrett » July 2nd, 2009, 8:48 pm

Got these in the mail today and I love them.

First up is this amazing Sonnett from the early 1950's - it is a model CLP endorsed by Gus Zernial. Similar in design to the Rawlings RR Red Rolfe of the same era but this glove is a monster!! Very tall and wide. Haven't come across this model before so I'm very happy.

Other new one is this Sonnett model G4F Jerry Coleman. I have 3 of these now but it's a quality glove and for the price I couldn't pass it up.

Not a high quality glove and it has a missing web, but haven't seen this endorsement before so it was a nice, cheap addition.

Your Gus Zernial does look a lot like a Rawlings RR, except with longer fingers. Even has the same lacing at the heel. Nice pick up, Brett! I've seen a few Macgregor Zernials, but yours is the only Sonnett that I can remember seeing.

Last July additions.

Norcon model 1676 Bob Allison fat finger glove - this is identical to my Reno Bertoia Sonnett in every way. Love it - thanks Joey and thanks eBay bidders for not running the price up on me. :)

Sonnett box model P900 - don't have this model so if anyone does, I'm interested.
