Rawlings Gone Too Far?

Postby Hrking4675 » August 5th, 2006, 5:40 am

Ok, so i just looked on Baseball Express, and they have a new "Primo" series with Italian leather!? It's set at a price of $400. Ok, I thought it was ridiculous when they MAP'ed the Pro Preferreds at $239. Then came the 50th anniv's at $300. Ok theyre unique, still kip leather, kind of cool, MAYBE worth it, well I bought one. But this, $400 for a baseball glove. Rawlings has just gone too far. I mean you can only go so far with a baseball glove, right? I just think this is getting ridiculous.

On another note, anyone know if the "Holiday 2006" is right for the A2K DW5? I read in the New York Post it was dropping in Aug.

Welcome HrKing4675!

I found this little blurb about the AK2 DW model - it has a picture of it and says it's available but I couldn't locate it on the website:

Thanks for the heads up on the Primo gloves. That is a lot of money for a glove, but if they are high quality, I'm sure people will be buying them. I rather like this one:

I checked these out at my local sports store. Definately overpriced. Bad shape, just gross.

Yep. I thought the shape was bad and they just didnt feel right. It was too "cookie cutter" for a $400 glove. Might have just been b/c it was a floor model, but im not sure.

Surprised a local sporting goods store would even carry this model, with a $400 retail. Anyone else have any feedback on Rawlings new PRIMO model?

Thanks
