New Sonnett Catalogs

Postby vintagebrett » September 19th, 2007, 5:14 am

With an assist from Bravosin99, I was able to add some new Sonnett catalogs to my collection. I think 4 or 5 of them are not listed in the source catalog so I will make copies for Joe and hopefully he can include them with the next issuse. If anyone needs any specific information, just let me know. I now have catalogs for 1958, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1966 and 1967.

Most of the gloves from the 66 and 67 catalogs I've never seen. I'm pretty sure these were the last two years of production so maybe they didn't make as many. The top of the line glove from these 2 years was Dick Radatz - it is a neat looking glove with 4 parallel tunnels. Really would like to pick one of these up if anyone has one.

Brett,

I remember you have a Davenport glove with an "A Bomb" web, I have a Frank Lary with the same webbing, was wondering if you had found out what year it was from?

I think I saw the Davenport in one of the catalogs - I will take a look when I get home.

The Walker Cooper mitt is great - I have one that is a little bit newer than the one I just picked up - different tags and model numbers. Fun stuff!

I don't see the A-Bomb web in the catalogs I have. I thought I had seen it but I had it confused with another one. The interesting thing about looking through these catalogs is seeing the many web designs that Sonnett used. And the frustrating, but intriguing part, is seeing how many cool gloves I have to add to my collection!
