Shoeless Joe Gloves

Postby ebbets55 » August 20th, 2007, 12:54 am

What do you want to know? I have a Nokona G42 and two Nokona basemitts. There's some speculation as to whether D&M made one or not. I think we might have identified one after an earlier one didn't pan out.

...unless you mean the Shoeless Joe line of gloves? http://www.eastbay.com/catalog/advancedSearch/supercat--home/keyword--fielders%2520gloves/brand--Shoeless%2520Joe/
I've heard they've redone this line and added a vintage series that looks a lot like the Spalding replicas that were advertised months back.

Nokona Joe Jackson Replicas

Postby softball66 » August 20th, 2007, 2:33 pm

Nocona made Joe Jackson replicas through the Glove Collector from the 1990s until about 3 years ago. These were almost entirely in black leather silver stamping and were the G42 fielders glove model reissue.
The original Nokona Jackson fielders were G42 and G50 along with the small first base mitts. These were all done in the late 1930s and through the 1940s.
The Glove Collector also did a short run replica (Sports Doctor) of the D&M variety glove.

Nokona Reissue Joe Jackson Gloves

Here's a picture of a black replica. It's a great looking glove. They also did them in a tan color as well.
