Glove Display at Miller Park

Took my little brother up to Miller Park in Milwaukee last night and we discovered this neat Nokona Glove display in the Kids Zone. The display shows how a glove is constructed - it was great to see Nokona was the glove they chose!

There is a similar display sponsored by Rawlings at Jacobs Field in Cleveland.

They demonstrate bat making on a lathe, have one station where balls are being made from scratch and have a huge display that has all of the components of a glove laid out in individual pieces, just as they would look before any assembly work is done.

My favorite part of the display is a huge Heart of the Hide glove, complete with all the stampings and details, that is about a 48" pattern! They have it set-up on a stand that makes it like a chair and folks can plop down in it to have their picture taken.

I've got a few shots of it on my digital camera. Maybe I can get around to posting a few pics sometime.

I want that glove!
