Excellent Video on the Nokona.com web site!

Postby Cowboy7130 » July 11th, 2007, 1:24 am

Just saw an excellent video on the Nokona.com website, outlining some of the history and philosophy of the company that still makes gloves as a family business in Nocona, Texas. Oh, man, the beautiful ballgloves they were working on ... wow!

Just let me say my next new glove will be a Nokona!
Yes, I still have my first glove.

Back last winter I heard that the television program "How Things Are Made" (hosted by John Ratzenberger on the Travel Channel) would be doing a feature on the Nokona glove factory.

Never did hear another thing about it. Did anyone by chance catch this one?

That possibility crossed my mind.

But the impression I got from the programming information I saw was that the segment had already been filmed.

Maybe...maybe not!

I went to the Travel Channel website and looked up "Made in America" ... Then I found the list of products that had been featured ... I found Nokona on the list, along with their contact information ... then I found an episode description (along with Nokona, Budweiser was featured in the episode .... but I did not find a video clip or a DVD for sale ....

Did anybody actually SEE that episode?

Nokona gloves and Budweiser beer all together in one thrilling episode?

Now that's "must see" TV!

The episode of Made In America on Nokona did air - they taped it before the fire.

Also, here are some pictures of the MIA visit from Nokona's web-site:

I just realized I taped that episode. Does anyone know how I can 'digitize' it so others can see it?

It's not from the MIA episode, but it does show the character and integrity of the Nokona folks.

DT,
How did you tape it? I bought a DVD Xpress DX2 from Wal-mart. It was around $50. It hooks up to the VCR or DVR and then USB into the PC. It is analog and not digital buit it works like a charm.

I saw that episode but it was a long time ago, probably last year. It was great. Good job Cliff Claven.

awarsoca, i have one of those DVD/VCR combo machines and I taped it to DVD to get the best quality. If someone can tell me how I can digitize the video directly from the DVD, I'll do that. Otherwise I looked up that DVD Xpress machine you mentioned and I'll go buy one of those - thanks for the info.
