Ed Maynard Inc. was a New Hampshire sporting goods company that became incorporated on October 27, 1932. Like his father, John F. Maynard (Draper & Maynard), Ed's company was also based out of Plymouth NH.
At the age of 29, John Edward Maynard was named vice president of Draper & Maynard in 1914, after the sudden death of D&M patriarch Jason Draper in 1913.
In 1930, 84-year old John Maynard stepped down as president, ending his 35 years of leadership of Draper & Maynard. Edward Maynard replaced his father as president.
Two years later he started his own company, Ed Maynard Inc., specializing in sports and athletic equipment, including skiing and baseball. Like D&M's mascot, Nicodimus, the mascot of Ed Maynard Inc. was also a dog, Jack. Their tagline was, "The Sign of the Little Dog".
