refinishing bats

Postby mittmutt » June 18th, 2007, 12:51 am

This being a baseball glove forum I don't want to stray too far from that topic but on occasion I find other great treasures. I'm wondering what is the general consensus on refinishing old baseball bats. It's not nearly as fun as working on leather but once in a while it's fun for a change of pace. Any thoughts on the subject?

I love working on gloves, but working on bats is great also. With leather there is only so much you can do to improve the appearance or feel of the leather. You have a lot more options for repairing wood and improving appearance. While this is off the topic for this forum and I don't want to get my son upset about discussing bat repairs I would be glad to help anyone out who wants to do some bat repair or restoration. Contact me at fredlowman@snet.net or call 860-379-7094 and I will be glad to help you out.
