Rose Athletic Goods

Ed Rose and his brother George opened Rose Athletic Goods in Buffalo NY in the 1890's. They specialized in athletic sweater and hosiery. They encountered financial troubles in 1898 and filed for bankruptcy protection. They survived that mostly intact and eventually George moved on to New York City and Ed moved to a different location in Buffalo as Ed Rose Athletic Goods. After Ed Rose died in 1923, his son took over the business. I saw a listing for that company as late as 1951.

Two Rose brand gloves have surfaced to my knowledge, one recently on ebay.
The first is an Ed Rose brand 1920-30's three finger "High School" model.

Below is an earlier Rose Athletic Goods "Big Leaguer" mitt circa 1915. It double tagged with the Rose and D&M cloth patches.
