I'm not saying that alcohol was involved but alcohol was probably involved.

Can anyone tell me what he wrote above "Yours Very Truly"?

" I Remain"

A lot of stuff gets lost in Cleveland!

A J.C. Higgins glove from a 1910 Sears catalog. A unique baseball glove for sure. The thumb and fingers stalls all have side panels. Funny how a common retailer will reveal a heretofore unknown model.

By 1924 the model SF sported the tunnel loop web.

The "Adoph Luque" glove also shared the same model number as the Wilbur Cooper glove in 1922-23. This one has not surfaced in the hobby.

By 1924 the new Goldsmith tunnel loop patent was incorporated into the "Luque" model.

Here is another "Doak like" laced web glove, this time from D&M. The ad is from 1922. Interesting that the designer of the glove, Milton Stock, was a team mate of Bill Doak in the early 1920's.

An example of this 1922 G40 model just sold on ebay for $107. It's a one year only glove and super rare. The 1923 G40 model used a tunnel loop webbing.

Milton J. Stock, huh? I sleuthed a glove for Robbie once that turned out to be a Milton Stock D&M model. Robbie, if you are watching, do you still have that glove?

A D&M ad featuring Grover Alexander. Note the Avalon CA. location. the Cubs used Catalina Island as their Spring training site. A swanky location for sure and the players got to hobnob with the Hollywood stars. Here's a little history.

That's cool. Always nice to see an example from an ad.

You're going to love this 1965 ad from Townley Metal and Hardware Co.
A Rawlings Big 8 glove by any other name. Love the Wilson Shooting Star logo.

A nice mash up of a MacGregor FieldMaster glove with the Rawlings HOH logo.
