Sandlot

I saw the Sandlot gloves a few months ago, and I was not impressed.

The leather is rough to the touch and seems very dry to me.

I know that the gloves are made to look "old-school" or well worn, but to my eye, the gloves are not good quality.

I wasn't holding my breath on that one. Our local sporting goods shop didn't have any- they said maybe in July...

Dont guess I'm missing anything :)

Look a LOT like the Heritage series gloves from a few years ago. Not identical, but similar. Even the color is close, although a bit lighter.

I was able to trade a buddy an Easton Natural Series 11.25 glove for a late 90's Heritage Series 12" Trapeze with an open back.

Talk about a steal.....

I haven't seen a Sandlot in person, but would of course like to.

Sandlot

I looked at a few Sandlot gloves at the Rawlings outlet store in Orlando.

As previously mentioned, I was really not impressed with the gloves.

They appear to be comparable to the Rawlings "Signature Series".

The ones I saw were selling in the $50 dollar range.

The Sandlot gloves are like a "ready to play" glove. The ones I held were very flimsy. If you like really floppy gloves, this one might be good for you.

If you like nice firm gloves that retain their shape, stay away from the Sandlot Series.

JC, I agree with you.

I just saw one yesterday night, already broken in, and thought its strengths were good thick lace and decent leather. I agree about the semi-dry feel. The interior stamping was done in a 'throw-back' font, which was a nice touch.

The interior was leather, but with fabric lining the fingers.

Not a big fan of fabric between the fingers

This coach said he had gotten it for $70 online, which seemed to be a decent price for a glove with leather interior (minus finger stalls) and leather binding.

As for the feel and playability, it felt solid, though not nearly so as a HOH or higher-end Rawlings.

Not bad for a middle-schooler or maybe a 'playing catch with your son' dad, but not for serious players.

It's nice to have guys out in the field looking at these gloves for second opinions!
