I came across someone looking to sell a Billy Loes Professional Model # GC WHITE Nokona baseball glove. He contacted "The Glove Collector" and was told that the glove is very rare in white, and could be in high demand. I have seen many pre war White leather gloves, but cant say I have seen any from the 1950s era. Does anyone have some white gloves from the 1950s to talk about?

The colored gloves, this white and also blue and green, were a little marketing ploy by Bob Storey to provide Nokonas in "team" colors in the mid 1950s. Not a bad idea. This is the third white Nokona Billy Loes that's been found to my knowledge. I've not heard of the blue or the green leather showing up but they could be out there.
When the first white Loes was located there was also a black Nokona Bud Podbelian glove in the same "barrel" but I passed on that. Nocona's made some nice black ones in that general era, my favorITE being my Riverboat Smith model and thanks to glover Mike Yachnik I have a mint one of those to go with my backyard gamer!

That white Loes sure would look really nice in between my black Karl Spooner and orange Ray Moore! 8)

Joe, can you send me some pics of your black Nokona glove(s)? I'd love to see them - bstoefen@hotmail.com

Thanks!
