Appears to be authentic. Robinson seemed to prefer Rawlings gloves. Too bad he was never under major company glove contract. Just a few Dubows and the post-career Capricos.
I would like to see the photo matches on this BD Bob Dilliinger glove (the marker #42 is very large) The BD was a very popular infielder model for major leaguers. The patch is weird with paint on some such on it. The glove is "played to death" and like the authenticator said, poorly preserved. Yes, with the movie highlighting Jackie's career, timing couldn't be better.
Though I believe the movie only deals with Jackie's 1947 season, his departure from baseball after the 1956 is an interesting read too. According to sources, he sold his "retirement" story from baseball to Look Magazine for $50,000, a considerable sum in those days.

The description says the patch is a replacement and done for aestethic value.

I thought I read that. Why alter the patch which is a dating proof for the original glove? I wouldn't alter any game glove, especially one this valuable.

The new patch was overlapped on top of the piping and not tucked under like it should so it may be loose and held on only by the cellophane.

Thanks Mike, you're right. Looks like a lot of re-lacing and crossover lacing was done on the glove too. I think there was some discussion of the description copy "felt tip pen" being used.

Late breaking news from the Hauls of Shame on the Robinson glove. I'd just seen the photo with Robby with the unusual "H" or "I" web glove with the Brooklyn infield.

If I ran an auction house that was running such a high profile item I'd be sure to have any and all photo matches viewable with arrows pointing out the traits that make it a clear match. That being said, the author/owner of the referenced site has a less than stellar reputation himself.
