I lucked out with the glove, nobody wanted it. It was a lefty, beat up with a lot of ink, believe it even had a full address written on it besides the name. Anyway, the stampings were bold and that's all I needed. Got it between $50 and $80 on eBay (can't remember the exact price) but it served its purpose, gave it a loving home and it's being put to better use now than in the unwanted state it was in when found.
The maker I used was not the one in that eBay listing above. If anyone wants one made, let me know and I'll forward his contact info to you. Other forum members have used his services and were blown away by the final product. He does remarkable work, so much so that a world-renown strap maker in Paris commented on my Mantle strap when I was in his shop. He wanted to buy it from me and when I refused, he asked if I would supply vintage gloves for him to convert into straps since they're scarce over there and he believed that Europeans would snatch them up. I passed on doing that too. A lot of vintage leather (gloves, bomber jackets, satchels, etc.) is being repurposed into wallets, belts, watch strap and the like nowadays.
I think my next strap may be an S&D Cobb... Nice and soft on the wrist!!!!
