Retirement preparation-selling gloves

Postby larjoranj » December 17th, 2012, 5:52 am

My wife and I have decided to try and retire in about 2 years, which will be 6-8 years sooner than the original plan. Part of the preparation will include downsizing a way too big house since our 3 kids are grown and moved out. Also, paying off all our bills without touching our savings. Part of that will include selling some or all of my modest glove collection. Between Ebay, this forum and friends I've already sold about 15 the last month. I'll probably do a mixture with the remainder of my gloves. I am technology challenged, but I signed up for a photobucket account and downloaded 25 gloves that I am willing to sell. About 20 are mint or near mint, 10 with the boxes and the rest are all excellent +.I've never been an especially big fan of sewn webs, just had 5 and 4 of those are sold. My favorites have always been the fatter late 30's and 40's gloves which will appeal to some and not others. I emailed myself a link to my photobucket site and it actually came through and worked when I clicked on it. If anyone is interested in seeing the gloves send me a pm with your email address and I'll send you the link. When I opened the email I sent myself there is a button that says "View Album". It's wasn't clickable but my username Larjoranj is highlighted and clickable to the photos. It may work different for different email servers. You should be able to click on each photo and enlarge them. If you look and are interested in buying something, I'll be glad to send you more detailed photos of the ones you are interested in to your email. Again, just let me know through a pm or my email at pld100@att.net. I don't have prices on them. I'm not sure yet what is fair for each one. Make me an offer and we'll see how it goes. Thanks and Merry Christmas to all

Thanks. I've worked most of the last 30 years on nights and I'm just burnt out. I read or heard somebody say "How many people have you heard on their deathbeds say they wish they'd spent more time at work?" Luckily I had weekends off most of my work life but still I wish I had been able to spend more time with my 3 kids when they were growing up. My daughter is a single mom and my wife and I would like to spend more time helping her with our grand-daughter. Hopefully it'll work out.

Sold a few and deleted those pics. Added 15 or 16. Have had many inquiries and it seems everybody prefers a price to be listed instead of making an offer. I understand. That's probably better, I can't keep the prices straight in my head.If I can figure out how to go back in and add prices I will. I'm swamped with work because of Christmas so It may take several days to get them all added. You will not offend me if you think a price is too high and make an offer. I will consider all offers but please do not be offended if I don't accept. I bought several of these gloves from posters on this forum so you'll be able to tell I'm probably within 10 % one way or the other of what I have invested on most gloves.

As part of the photobucket editing software, you can rename the photo and add the price there. There are three icons above each photo. The editing option is the middle icon.

I think I have prices on all gloves now. Busy few weeks ahead, will do my best to answer. Several have asked about discounts for buying multiple gloves. Will see what I can do depending on gloves. I figured 10 shipping into each glove and 15 into each glove/box combo. I will combine multiple gloves to save you shipping where possible. Merry Christmas all
