Percy McBride was a motorcycle racer at the turn of the century. He opened up the first motorcycle shop in Toronto in 1909 and remained successful for almost a century. He sold a variety of sporting goods in addition to Henderson and other brand motorcycles.

This early full web white leather McBride baseball glove is probably very rare. It sold a few years ago at a Mears auction for $200. Quite a bargain.

McBride Motorcycle filed for bankruptcy in 2008 and the building was torn down in 2009. Declining sales and overseas competition was cited as the cause. The closure was quite a loss to the motorcycle community. The photo below shows the building surrounded with construction barricades prior to demolition

That glove has been around the hobby - it keeps popping up. It's a youth model glove but often gets sold as a workmans. It sold again at the National this summer. I think people get duped into thinking its an ultra rare workmans glove and then when they get it, they are disappointed by its size and quickly pass it on. The tag is neat.
