Can anyone give me any background on this brand of glove? All I have found is that it was a hardware store back in the 1940's and 1950's.

Kelley-How-Thomson was a large hardware store in Minnesota. They started in the 1890's and like most other hardware operations, eventually sold sporting goods. There is a lot of fishing gear out there but I personally have never heard of a baseball glove with that brand. Joe's Catalog Source Book lists it as a private label brand so it is probably not uncommon. The glove undoubtedly was made by a major glove manufacturer for K-H-T. They were bought out in 1955 by Marshall-Wells, a competing Minnesota hardware company.

JD, your KHT Sportland glove is really nice. Love the logo in the palm. The Marshall Wells glove isn't to shabby either. I forgot you like the private label brand gloves.

Joe P. posted this cool Goldsmith George Uhle glove on ebay. It's a blazer as far as the front factory stamps. I also liked the cloth patch. It reads "Kelley-How-Thomson, Duluth Minnesota.
