Hi there, my name is Spencer Wilkinson from Virginia and I have just gotten interested in older baseball gloves and collecting some of them. I, most likely, am interested in gloves that many of you are not interested in. Being 64 years of age I can remember the split finger gloves as those that could be had for little or nothing as they were mostly found as items that people wanted to get rid of. I am most interested in gloves from the mid 50s to the very late 60s, they do not have to be the top of the line gloves, but the gloves I remember playing with as a Little League Player up to my High School and College days. Not long after that I switched over to softball, however, that is another story.
I am interested in signature gloves, mostly, with the signatures of the stars of my youth and even some after.
Thank you for listening to the rants of an old man who has, in the past five years, rekindled my love for baseball on the pro level on TV and on the semi pro level with the Coastal Plains League and various college teams within a 70 mile drive of my house.
Tonight I am going to an American Legion game, it makes for a great night watching these kids play ball, perhaps they do not have the talent of the multi million dollar players of MLB, however, they leave everything they have on the field every night and you can see them get better with each game learning from their mistakes.
