So, you want to be in movies

As some of you may know we were recently contacted by the property manager for the "film in production" Jackie Robinson movie titled: "42". This is one of several baseball movies we have been approached for advice upon and we did indeed help the prop master of this film J. P. Jones. We advised him in particular on the late 1940s Trapper style mitt. We also had several gloves we proposed to sell gloves to the production company. Jones, however, turned to the noted property company: "History For Hire" shop for their gloves, we later learned. Rawlings also made several trapper models for the film and we wound up sending a 1947 eras trapper to Bob Clevenhagen in order for him to the the patterns and fits together. In all it was interesting. This was the second time we had been reached regarding a Jackie Robinson proposed movie, the latter about five years ago by Producer Director "Spike" Lee's production company.
Part of this upcoming movie (fall release?) was filmed in Birmingham's Rickwood field according to our Birmingham local collator Lamar Smith.
We've been selling some of the gloves we offered (but not accepted) for the movie on ebay and some of you have purchased some of these. Thanks!
I will provide a more elaborate rundown on vintage gloves for movie on Jim Daniel's web suite which many of you will find enlightening. 8)

He bought a dozen gloves from me for the film and I know he was working with Rob to purchase quite a few as well. Looking forward to seeing them in the movie.

Way to go Brett and Rob!!! He probably already had your gloves when we started our search. He did get back to me saying he needed left-hand (thrower) gloves but never heard back from him.
Yes, it will be interesting to see how the gloves are used and if he has some that don't fit the time table.
